This morning, ABMA staff held a webinar to discuss details about Advocacy Day. The goal was to give attendees, and those still on the fence about attending, information on the schedule of events, how we prepare attendees for their meetings with legislators, and generally what to expect from the event.
ABMA staff book all of your meetings with legislators and will review all of the legislative priorities you will be discussing in your meetings at an issue briefing on Wednesday, March 22. You will also receive printed maps, in addition to the electronic option linked in the slides, a schedule of all your meetings including locations and who you are meeting with.
Attendees also receive a Congressional Bio on each legislator you will meet with. It has information about the legislator, such as what committees they serve on and a little about their background, as well as what legislation you should talk with them about, including talking points.
Staff also shared a document with useful links, including where to book your hotel room, how to register for the event, things to do, and options of how to get around while in D.C.
