On Friday, September 17th, ABMA Government Affairs Associate Pat Rita and ABMA Director of Legislative & Regulatory Affairs Kirk Ives attended a U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) sponsored meeting with OSHA officials and other interested parties on a number of workplace safety issues, most importantly, President Biden’s proposed vaccine mandate and testing requirements for employers with 100 or more employees.
At this meeting, we learned that the anticipated release date for the OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) is estimated to be 6-10 weeks away and many of the decisions on the content of the ETS are still under discussion and will remain fluid as OSHA constructs the final ETS.
Following the meeting, ABMA drafted a letter to OSHA to outline LBM industry concerns and questions. A button to that letter is below. The ABMA will continue to gather information and will stay in contact with OSHA officials on this most serious topic.
